Horn Mtn Shelties
Greetings Paula,
I am sending you one picture of Acie.  He is
really hard to photograph in our yard.  Acie is
now 19 mo. old.  In Nov. he completed Dog
Training 101 with Jae-Mar-S Academy and
passed all items on the Canine Good
Citizen's Test.  We were very proud of him.
He is my constant companion.  When my
husband and I are both home, he places
himself strategically so he knows where we
both are.  When its just Acie and me at home
he moves from room to room with me.  He is
alert to everything and perceptive of every
move that is made.  I call him my buddy.  He
loves to play, and when we go for a walk he
is just so excited he can't contain himself.  I
tell him he is chasing butterflies.  He is such
a delight.       Irell

It's funny to watch Comet and Ahki play.  Thought you might like
to have some pictures... see what beautiful dogs you raised.
Alicia

I was intrigued by some of Alicia's comments that you had
some pups recently.  Not sure when that was..we could have
had that conversation several monts ago.  The children, Comet
and Ahki are well.  Ahki is truely the love of my life outside of
marriage to Alicia.  She is such a blessing..I spoil her.  She is
really a special dog for me.  She has this way about
her..doesn't like discipline..but her eyes just give her away..and
she listens to me.  She melts me..plays funny games..and at
the end of the day.. has a funny way of needing to be close..very
close..to know everything is OK.
Just wanted to say hello.  Comet is still Alicia's dog and yet at
night he is on the bed and is a lovebug.  His greatest
acknowledgement of love is when he curls up on the bed
(against your leg/foot/arm) and "sighs"..with a small groan.
This happens about 10 times in the course of the night.  Still he
is her dog..but I have my Ahki.
Just wanted to say hello.  Planning the new house around
another dog.. a blue merle.

Dear Paula,
Beth and I want to thank you so much for providing us
with our new puppy, Buster.   He immediately won our
hearts.  We were amazed at how much he knew when he
arrived, nice manners and already house broken.  He is
beautiful, of course, and so intelligent.  We call him our
Mensa puppy.  He replaced our own Buster(also a
sheltie) who had just passed away after 17 years of love
and devotion.  Obviously we were devastated, but this
little guy helped us get over our loss.
Buster is now almost 7months old and he has grown into
quite a princely fellow.  Like his mom, he enjoys watching
TV and is so agile.  He has had to put up with the arrival
of a second new puppy.  Buster has taken the new guy
under his wing and they are now best friends - sharing
their food dish, their toys and their beds.  We also want to
thank you for all the advise and encouragement.  Your
suggestions have been right on!
                                             Thanks again,

Hi Paula,
Just hadda share--hug Coalie for producing our little girl.  We started agility
at Canine Capers on wed.  Oh my gosh!  After having about 6 wks off her
little baby brain kicked in.  He ground work was excellent, fast, precise, &
even about 3 foot away.  She barked after completing each turn.  hmm
imagine that, a talking sheltie.<grins> We learned tunnels.  When she
understood the concept, she ran thru, then turned out of the tunnel to the
handlers side.  It was also at speed.  Her prefered incentive--toy or better
yet--chase the handlers leg!  Kewl doggie.  4/07

I am just busting at the seams!
Kestrel won the "tunnel" game at the Canine Capers Christmas party!  She
ran a total of 5 times against all big dogs.  You run with dogs from the level
of class you are currently enrolled--so we ran with the Intermediate dogs.
We moved into that class about 3 wks ago.
The game is set in an oval with a c-shaped tunnel at each end and 2
jumps at each long side of the oval for a total of 4 jumps.  We were the first
team to compete--against a fast lab-ish dog.  She barely beat that dog.
The next dog may have been a border collie(All I cared about was holding
that collar--she was just bustin' to run again) That run ended in a tie.  So
we had to run immediately again.  Won that one. Run 4 was no
competition-- it was against a slow lab.  Our last run was against a
Pharaoh Hound.  We beat Phancy!!!!!!!! Scooped-up Kestrel, hugged
Brianna (Phancy's Mom) and thanked her for a good run.  Little Kes ran
faster, with less direction & with greater distance on each and every run.
Kes never showed interest in the other dogs on course, or that people &
dogs were on the sidelines yelling & barking, nor did she bark while she
ran.
The comments after ranged from; wow what a fast LITTLE dog, ya gotta
learn to run with that one, never saw a sheltie drive that far in front of the
handler!
It was way kewl!  Now back on earth, she still has a long way to go to be
able to run a course in that manner, but I now see the potential in this
awsome little (12incher) girl.  We are so very proud to be at the other end of
Kestrel's leash.  She is the wyld ryde I was seeking.  Only hope I can be the
handler she deserves.
Thanks for listening--off to find reality.     Steph   12/07

Dear Paula,
Thank you so much for allowing this beautiful little girl to be
a part of our lives.  Frost is now 6 months old and just
started a beginners obedience class.  She get along great
with her 3 sisters and her small size doesn't seem to slow
her down when chasing them around the back yard.  She
loves to play tug,and every night she cuddles on the couch
with us before bedtime.  Coalie did a wonderful job raising
her pups and I can only hope that Frost will do the same
when it is her turn to be a mommie.

Thanks again,
Leslie & Eddie W.

Hi Paula,
I thought it was time to let you know how Neo is doing in his new
home.  Let me first say we adore him.  He is such a cuddlier.
Every night he can't wait to jump in bed with my daughter.  He
would rather wait to eat dinner than miss getting in bed with her.

One thing he loves is his walks.  Everyday I take him to the park.  I
have never seen a dog so excited when people, especially
children, come up to him.  He sticks out his chest and I think he
actually grins.  He also has a best friend, besides Valerie.  He and
my cat cuddle up together.  It is adorable.

Well, I just wanted to let you know that he is doing ok and that we
love him very much and wouldn't trade him for any other dog.
Thanks  LH  2010
